Submitted By: David Bledsoe Associated LARP Group: Triumph LARP in Dayton Ohio Category Submitted Too: Best Group Action Sequence Description: Dracos Cult summons a demon, and gets more than they bargained for. The season finale of Season 1. The heroes of Fairhame are besieged, awaiting relief from the army of Aettlund. It is up to these adventurers to hold off a mercenary force. Already, there had been line battles, scouting missions, the destruction of a "siege engine". The mercenary army, hired by the Dracos cult, stand ready, and are shuffled off the field by the mages and priests. A show of power is required. The heroes begin to tremble in anticipation behind their "wall". Grelan Ronar, silver haired elf (NPC plot tool) and Wolf Shaman becomes aware of a stirring...and realizes a demon is being summoned. He casts Totemic Avatar, as the heroes begin to know fear. (And the players portraying those heroes begin to mutter expletives, certain that there will be a body count.) What is shown in the video is this: The demon is summoned, and the cultists get a much larger demon than they expected...the summoning has gone awry. The cultists cheer, thinking victory at hand...then the demon begins killing their own, and the screams start. The demon rips, theatrically, through the cultist army. Grelan Ronar charges out to face the demon, determined to keep it from slaughtering his companions. It slaps him around a bit, and the heroes charge it. Quickly the heroes realize that they are having little effect, and more startling, that the demon cares not for them, it is simply on a meandering rampage. Kiev (a ranger NPC plot tool), calls for the heroes to gather and attack the disorganized Dracos army, inflicting horrid casualties on the enemy. We were fortunate enough to capture the action from 2 angles. Demoncam1 is a contiguous piece; Demon cam2 and cam2cont are the order for the "reverse angle". As for the demon, it wandered off into the woods...something for the heroes to deal with in Season 2... |
